About
I’m Mike, the founder of Alpine Rifles. I grew up hunting with my dad and started carrying a BB gun at the age of 4. Hunting and shooting have always been my favorite way to spend time.
I love learning and improving and have always been a DIY guy. I started reloading for my first centerfire rifle when I was 17. That has lead me down the rabbit hole of always seeking more. More accuracy, more performance, more experience, more this, more that.
In 2014 I started messing with AR’s. It wasn’t long and I was messing with wildcats to get more from the AR platform. The first was the 6×45 or 6mm/223. Since then, I’ve done others like 338 Thumper, 375 Grendel, 338 RCM and most recently, 6.5PRC, in a AR-10 which is an incredible combination.
It wasn’t long and I needed a rifle capable of a higher degree of precision. Being a DIY guy, I wanted to learn to do it myself. To understand how to achieve repeatable results.
In 2016 I was given the opportunity to work for a gunsmith and stock maker. I learned a lot! When it was time to move on, I took a course in extreme precision rifle building from a well known F-class rifle builder. This set me up to build the precision rifles I was wanting to build.
Since then, doors have opened and I now have the equipment to open a rifle shop of my own and share what I’ve learned with everyone. Located in Western Montana, we can ship to any FFL in the county.
Right is a antelope buck I took with a 338 Edge I built. The shot was 550 yards, which is pretty easy with a high performance rifle now days.
